I started my career in NYC in 2005, landing odd one-off roles here and there, doing lots of puppetry, playing sex workers on TV, bopping around the off and off-off Broadway scene. In-between acting gigs, I picked up cash as a free lance illustrator and by creating unique, made-to-order crochet pieces. I opened my Etsy shop, An Optimistic Cynic in 2009, which allowed me to expand my commission work, as well as finance my own production company, which led to the creation of my web series, True Story. I continue to expand my business, as I complete the final season of True Story, and begin planning the launch of a new soon-to-be hilarious comedy feature.
Guts. I got 'em. You got 'em. They're something everyone has in common. But do you really know what your spleen looks like - or what the heck it does? My pieces educate, fascinate, and are sometimes just plan silly.
Based on the real-life, true mishaps and social faux pas in the lives of the series creators, Sarah Louisa Burns, and Rebecca Panfile.
The names have been changed to protect the (arguably) innocent.
Because sometimes, you just can't make that shit up.
